TCG re-positions firmly ahead of the LG election in Lagos State.

As Muslim faithful around the world reach day 8 of the holy month of Ramadan, the Consolidation Group (TCG) converged for it’s weekly general meeting at the National Secretariat of the campaign caucus. The meeting was shortened to an hour to allow Muslim members prepare for Iftar.

Prince Kunle Dosumu one of the leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Amuwo Odofin LG, opened the meeting full of praise to members of the group for their unrelenting effort so far in wooing members of the community into the APC party, applauding their resilience and the time and energy expended to get the desired results.

In his address to members, the founder of the group and immediate past Executive Council Chairman, Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Lagos State, Comrade Ayodele Adewale tasked everyone to remain focused and keep their eyes on the ball. Tagging their commitment and enthusiasm to the cause under the strap line ”WE MOVE!”

He wished the Muslim faithfuls around the world a happy Ramadan and urged them to seize the opportunity of the holy month to pray for Amuwo Odofin LGA, Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu especially during this period as meaningful people call on him to contest for the President of Nigeria in the 2023 general election.

Comrade Ayodele Adewale informed his followers that the election guidelines are expected to be released by the State electoral body (LASIEC) before the end of April 2021 and that the Chairmanship and Councillorship elections in Lagos State are billed to hold in July 2021 following the expiration of the tenure of the chairmen and councillors.

Comrade Adewale also disclosed that the Consolidation Group leadership had received letters of intent from seven (7) aspirants interested in the office of Executive Chairman and eighteen (18) other aspirants for the Councillorship seat across all wards in Amuwo Odofin LGA.

The Ex-Council Chief encouraged other interested APC faithfuls within the political campaign caucus to signify interest noting that all candidates will be screened in-house against a set criteria to ensure qualitative candidates are presented from TCG.

He further revealed that many have dedicated themselves selflessly to the campaign group and the APC Party over the years and it behooves that adequate compensation would be due to such people.

Comrade Ayodele Adewale who also wore the hat of APC monitor for Amuwo Odofin LG in the revalidation and registration exercise announced the official closure of the exercise from the National Working Committee and congratulated members for their efforts and the commitment throughout the exercise. Their efforts had recorded monumental numbers noting that the least ward in TCG was able to register not less than One Thousand, Five Hundred,(1,500) members for the Party.

He encouraged them to keep tabs of the registered members and always keep them abreast with information regarding the Party activities.

Comrade Ayodele also re-emphasized the need for party faithfuls to keep tabs on the project of ensuring that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu contests in the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.

In his words, Asiwaju has not signified his interest yet, but as a progressive who was groomed and believe in his school of thought, we are calling on him to vie for the highly exhalted seat of the President Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Comrade Ayodele stated.

In the spirit of love,it was agreed that the meeting should come to an end so that their Muslim brothers and sisters can get home and break their fast on time.

Ward reports were given and ward accreditations were conducted.

A total of One Hundred and Twenty One,(121) people were present at the meeting.

The next meeting is scheduled to hold on Monday, 26th April 2021 by 4:00pm prompt at the National Secretariat.
