The primary election of the party for 57 chairmanship and 377 councillorship candidates of the ruling party in Lagos State. The All Progressive Congress (APC) at the weekend held its primaries throughout the state.
In some areas, voting and accreditation started around 11am due to the late arrival of officials to conduct the exercise.
Also several people were injured in many local governments’ areas including Surulere, Shomolu, Alimosho and Ejigbo among others where thugs disrupted the exercise.
In Ajeromi local government, a stake holder Prince Amodu Olarenwaju Oluwa said the massive turn out of voters is a testimony of the incumbent chairman, Honourable Fatai Ayoola, good performance.
“He has done very well, at inception. He came in with a 4 point Agenda: Education, Youth Development and Empowerment, Health and Social security”.
Also speaking at the St John primary school venue, a leader of the party in Ajeromi, Alhaji Daniju noted that the exercise in ward (I) was peaceful and encouraging.
However, there are nine wards in the local government. The voting came to an end when the ballot papers used for the exercise was exhausted.
The result of the councillorship election was announced, and the only female councilor in the ward was declared winner.
