Sailings’ Smiling Promo: LASG distributes 100 free cowry cards to ferry passengers
The Managing Director, Lagos State Ferry Service Company (LAGFERRY), Mr Ladi Balogun, has said that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu ordered him to distribute 100 cowry cards to ferry passengers to enhance patronage on water transportation.

Balogun said while distributing cowry cards to ferry passengers during the Day one of the Sailing’ N Smiling raffle draw Promo in Lagos Thursday..
The promo was officially launched on June 10, to reward loyal LAGFERRY customers and popularise the usage of water transportation to ease congestion on the roads.
Balogun said that the promo was facilitated by the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency, Samsung Lagos State Lottery and Gaming Authority, Lagferry, Elivat9ja, Coscharis Groups and the Nigerian Breweries.
Balogun urged ferry passengers to adopt the cashless policy by loading their token in the cowry card which was integrated to all government modes of transportations.
“We are doing the promo to encourage our people to come on the waterways so that we can decongest the traffic on the road which is yielding tremendous results.
“We hope that the promo will increase our ridership by 10 per cent.
“We are going to have a winner of the first grand price Car, courtesy of Coscharis motor in September.
“We want to encourage our people to come on the waterway, is very safe, fast and reliable, “Balogun said.
He said that Lagferry and other organisers of the promo would be having the weekly promo in all the 16 jetties saying that the raffle draw kicked off from Falomo jetty on July 1.
The Managing Director, Elivat9ja, Mr George Ogan, said he was excited haven seen ferry passengers smiling home with over 50 different reasonable gifts.
Ogan said that the sailing and smiling promo was to promote water transportation while Elivat9ja was to bring dream to reality.
He said that there was no limit to winners and urged Lagos residents to patronise water transportation.
Miss Omotolani Ogunbo, who won the first price, power bank said she never expected to win but she gave it a try.
Ogunbo urged Lagos residents to patronise water transport being the safest means of transportation as far as Lagos State is concerned.
A journalist, Mr Oluwole Ojo, A news Editor with TV 369, won a repeler mosquito and appreciated the Lagferry and other organisers of the sailing and smiling raffle promo.
Ojo who worked in Lagos said he usually board the ferry from Lagos to Ikorodu, adding that said he had not been opportune to win price before now.
Another winner, Miss Ester Emmanuel won Samsung Flat screen television said she had been sailing with LAGFERRY since January.
She said the television was the price she had ever won in her life and appreciated Elivat9ja and the Management of Lagferry for the initiative.
The grand prize winner Ukah Japhet, who happen to be a laundry service operator, won a Samsung washing machine.
Japhet said that he wanted to board Premerio bus while his sister persuaded him to join the ferry from Falomo to Ikorodu and sat for the promo then won Samsung washing machine.
He thanked all the organisers of the promo exercise and said he now had three washing machine which would enhance his laundry service.
