Oba Oluwasegun Adeyemi-Ajasa, the Awise of Onigbongbo, in Lagos on Sunday commended Nigerian Army for promoting cordial relationship and best security outfit in Onigbongbo town.
Adeyemi-Ajasa gave the commendation during the Annual Medical Outreach organised by the Nigeria Army, 9 Brigade, Ikeja, Lagos
The monarch said the cordial relationship the Army had been having with his subjects was dated to years back.
He said that the Brigade was a blessing to Onigbongbo community as their presence had brought calm and safety to them.
Speaking at the medical outreach, Brigadier General Lander-David Saraso, the Commanding Officer of the 9 Brigade of Nigerian Army said the four days outreach was a way of giving back to the host community.
According to him, this is the only way we can reach out to our host community as a way of giving back to them.
Saraso said that the medical outreach includes referral of major ailments, distribution of drugs, palliatives and take home pack.
In his remarks, Chief Wasiu Akerele, the Bashorun of Onigbongbo land, urged all security agencies, especially the Nigerian Police to emulate the good gestures of Nigerian Army.
He thanked the Army for the good gesture, urging them to keep up the good work.
