The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates as winner in Badagry Local Government and Badagry West LCDA in the Saturday council election in Badagry, Lagos.
Olusegun Oniludei, the incumbent APC chairman in BLG, was declared winner, while Joseph Gbenu also of APC was re-elected for the Badagry West LCDA.
Declaring the election results at the BLG Secretariat, the Returning Officer for Badagry LGA, Mr Edward Odukomaiya, announced that Onilude polled 8,065votes to beat PDP’s Monday Honfovu
who scored 2118 votes.
“Olusegun Onilude of the APC having satisfied the requirements of law and scoring the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner and returned elected having polled 8,065 votes,” he said.
Also, Mr Dosu Sao,, the Returning Officer of Badagry West LCDA declared Joseph Gbenu of APC as winner.
Sao said that Gbenu polled 4339 votes while the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Kolawole Abraham scored 739 votes.
The returning officer declared Gbenu of the APC winner having satisfied the requirements of law and scored the highest number of votes.
“Joseph Gbenu of the APC having satisfied the requirements of law and scoring the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner and returned elected having polled 4,338 votes,” he said.
