If he had wish to be the president of any country, he would have gotten it a platter of gold. Just a walk through Apapa, alone, you can hardly pass without hearing Alaye. This is an appellation for Prince Dr Olusegun Ologbese. A seasoned maritime practitioner, Prince Ologbese has numerous non-governmental bodies which he has used to fight for the betterment of the society. One of such groups is the Concern People of Lagos.
This an organization he personally founded to fight for the common people.
For instance, during the regime of Col Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who was the military administrator of Lagos state during the regime of General Sanni Abacha.
At the period the security system of Lagos was in disarray. Armed robbers were tormenting the citizen of Lagos. The roads were in state of disrepair, electricity became essential but very scarce and people were suffering.
He along with his group has to go all the ways from Lagos to Abuja and met with the powerful military ruler, General Sanni Abacha at Aso Rock to lodge complains that Lagos had become ungovernable.
After seen Sanni Abacha who was dreaded by everybody, Abacha’s Chief Security Officer to the Head of State, Al Mustapha brought a gift which Concern People of Lagos headed by him rejected.
Consequently, Abacha asked them what they want. The simple answer was that they want a change of administration in Lagos. This led to the removal of Col Oyinlola who was replaced with Col Buba Marwa. That was a major breakthrough for the Concerned People of Lagos State.
He is the brain behind a socio cultural group called Egbe Mobolaje that brought his Kim’s men and women together here in Lagos. Gradually it became a group everyone looks forward to joining. This group has helped solve lot of domestic issues in mover’s homes.
And it is worthy to know that, it was this group that produced the present King of Oka Akoko Oba Adebori Adeleye. He has been a blessing to Nigeria.
Still bubbling with a desire to make life better for the people, Prince Ologbese formed and registered President, Association of Good Leadership Advocates Peace Development Lagos.
This was why in one of my post few days ago, I charged the new Chairman of NDLEA Marwa to remember those that brought him into the State where he made his name. He has married with children.
He Is the Balogun Ijo of Christ Apostolic Church. He is the Chairman of Ogbese Groups of Company. Their operations are import, export and he his Maritime Consultant.
Besides his activisms, he is a philanthropist. He has impacted in the lives of many Nigerians irrespective of tribe or affiliation.
He is a prayerful father and like to be in the midst of people sharing his wisdom and encouraging people.
Congratulations on eight decades of life! You’ve seen the world change tremendously, been through many personal hardships and triumphs, and guess what? You turned out all right.
